1996 Dodge Neon review from North America (Carsurvey.org)
Is a cash layout required for repairs? Some extended warranties require that you pay the bill, then send the receipt in and wait for reimbursement; in many cases, months elapse before you get your money back. Ideally, you'll want a warranty that pays the dealership directly with a credit card.

"RIP OFF!" What things have gone wrong with the car? What hasn't gone wrong with it? 1. The paint it is almost completely peeled off.

2003 Peugeot 206 GTi 180 review from Australia and New Zealand (Carsurvey.org)
"Would I ever buy one again? NO" What things have gone wrong with the car? Water pump had to be replaced at 35,000Km. Warranty is a joke. The main reason I bought a new car was that I would not have to deal with breakdowns of this nature.

2001 Honda CR-V LX review from North America (Carsurvey.org)
I got this car used from a Honda dealer with 46,000 miles on it. The A/C blew off at 51,000 miles and the whole A/C unit had to be reinstalled. It cost me $1,200. I'm glad I had bought a comprehensive 3 year 36,000 miles warranty from the dealer. It pretty much took care of the expenses.

2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT review from North America (Carsurvey.org)
Black paint faded very badly after only 1 year of owning car; Mitsubishi said that there was nothing they could do, and it is not covered under the warranty.

Winning with Extended Auto Warranties (Benton Evening News)
(ARA) - It seems like it never fails - as soon as your car's odometer rolls one mile past the warranty's mileage limit, something goes wrong. And it's usually something major, that's majorly expensive to repair.

2003 Subaru Legacy L Special Edition review from North America (Carsurvey.org)
Head gasket blew at 42,000 miles, fixed under warranty. Rear light assembly began leaking at 31,000, fixed under warranty. OEM Bridgestone tires were terrible, now running Goodyear Tripletread and the tires are great. Handles very good.

2001 Buick LeSabre Custom review from North America (Carsurvey.org)
In July 2005, the left rear window regulator went out. Because the car had 31,000 miles on it, the dealer replaced the whole window regulator with the notes of "defective cable guide" in the repair order.

2007 Citroen C6 HDi review from UK and Ireland (Carsurvey.org)
Nothing as yet. Although I have done a relatively low mileage and the car is still under warranty, Citroen has a reputation for unreliability, although I would argue that gremlins of the past have in the main been banished these days.

1996 Dodge Neon review from North America (Carsurvey.org)
Based on my strong recommendation, my friend insisted that he was interested in purchasing only a Ford warranty and after some searching our F&I person found the information for the Ford brand. My friend decided on the coverage he wanted to purchase, taking into consideration his planned time of ownership, mileage he estimated he would accumulate, and price of the different levels of coverage. The F&I person had to consult the Ford ESP policy book in order to fill out the paperwork properly and later told us that he had never before sold the manufacturer's brand. Don't accept "no" for an answer. If a vehicle manufacturer's name is on the building, they can sell you that brand of contract.
