When you're in the F&I (Finance & Insurance) department signing your DMV and/or finance paperwork you will probably be asked about purchasing an extended auto warranty for the vehicle. It sounds like we should personally change our own oil every 4 months or 3000 miles than to ever take it to a dealership and still experience problems. I suspect that the engine design flaws will magically disappear at our own fingertips.

A Toyota that gets reasonable maintenance and is driven by anyone who is mechanically competent will practically always go at LEAST 300,000 miles. I know an older guy that at one time owned his own fleet of taxi's, and he used mainly Corolla's.

Brake calipers at 18,000 km. Major problem was the engine needed a replacement, after only 60,000 km due to the common sludge problem toyota has. New engine starting to tick a little 1,000 km ago.

Drive Train Warranty: This is the portion of the coverage that begins after the basic warranty expires. The drive train warranty covers most of the parts that make the vehicle move, including the engine, transmission, drive axles and driveshaft. Like the basic warranty, "consumable" parts such as hoses and belts are not covered. However, most of the internal parts of the engine, such as the pistons and bearings, which are also subject to wear and tear, are covered by the drive train warranty.
